Prepare for the Cloud: 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud Eligibility Checker

Over the last several years, it has become more apparent that change is the only constant in life. With employee motivations, business operations, and the world-changing so rapidly, many are looking towards the cloud to gain a little more flexibility.

Whether it’s the flexibility to work from anywhere, share data easily, work on any device, or innovate, solution providers have realized that flexibility is vital.

Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform has met many engineering teams’ demands for flexibility. With the ability to access your data anywhere on any device and share it with anyone, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform empowers organizations to collaborate in real-time from any device, connect with customers and suppliers, and track progress to deliver unrivaled products and customer experiences.

Cloud Eligibility

The most significant advantage of the 3DEXPERIENCE system is that it operates on nearly any device, and many apps don’t require installation. The platform is more plug-and-play and is typically more cost-effective for hardware and support.

There’s still some configuration necessary to get the most out of the platform. To help guide you through this, Dassault Systèmes provides the Cloud Eligibility Checker tool. The Cloud Eligibility Checker tool will run a series of checks to ensure you are ready to operate the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform on Cloud.

Navigating to the link above will give you an option to “Test Your Compatibility.”

By clicking the link, you will download a lightweight application that evaluates your system configuration and notifies you of the required changes.

Upon downloading the file, you can open it.

The utility will run silently in the background for a few moments before displaying the results in your web browser. (The report is saved as an HTML file on your local computer.)

The report will include four columns: Check, Expected Prerequisites, Current Results, and Status, with your machine and PC name listed at the top.

What Does Each Section of The Report Mean?

Check: The category or section being evaluated.

Expected Prerequisites: Lists the specific needs you should meet or exceed and provides links to information to help you understand the requirements further.

Current Results: Outlines the tool detected on your existing system.

Status: Contains either a red X or a green checkmark indicating a pass or failure.

To be cloud-ready, you’ll want to work your way through each of the sections indicated with a red X, addressing any concerns. The easiest way is to read the linked information in the expected prerequisites column and ensure all the conditions are satisfied. If you’re unsure of what’s missing and need assistance, submit a case or contact our technical support team

What’s Next?

Once you’ve completed the Cloud Eligibility Checker and addressed any concerns, you’ll want to run the test one more time to ensure it passes. After completing the test, contact us to discuss how your newly cloud-ready systems can get the most out of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and the capabilities it provides.
